Solvic® is a powerful disinfection solution that is effective against a wide range of human pathogens, including Covid-19. Despite being over 300 times more powerful than bleach, it is as gentle as water and approved in some countries for use as an acne treatment, as well as in eye and oral healthcare.
The active ingredient in Solvic is hypochlorous acid (HOCl), a natural compound produced by human neutrophils as part of the body’s immune system. It comes with no hazard warnings and has been dermatologically tested and proven non-sensitising and non-irritating to skin. This means there is no need for PPE when using the product.
It has historically been hard to stabilise. However, through strategic research and testing along with our partners, Metis Health found a route to stabilise the compound during the electrolysis process to produce a pure and stable form in Solvic.
Solvic must be used with the Hydra misting system – it is not compatible with other misting and fogging machines.
Why use Solvic?
pH neutral unlike other disinfectants: Solvic is non-sensitising and non-irritating to skin, so there is no need for PPE
Effective even against resistant pathogens: Proven to deliver log6 reduction, a 99.9999% elimination rate
No evidence of clinical resistance
No evidence of clinical resistance from any class of biological pathogen according to the World Health Organization (WHO)
Highly cost effective
Highly cost effective compared to alternatives like HPV, delivering comparable results faster and at a fraction of the cost
Proven impact: Independently tested with repeatable, consistent results
Minimum shelf life of 12 months
“Metis Health has been working with the NHS on the exciting clinical and infection control benefits that the hypochlorous acid molecule offers for some time, with considerable success.”

“chlorine smell” and what it actually means…
With the stronger smell of combined chlorine, this means that more bacteria have reacted and been killed.

Can hypochlorous acid be used as part of a skin care regime?
Can a biocide that is being used to kill COVID-19 in healthcare facilities really be gentle enough to use on your face as part of your skin care regime? It may sound hard to believe but this wonder biocide is revolutionising both the cosmetic and medical aesthetic markets.
What is Hypochlorous Acid?
Solvic® (also referred to as HOCl) has been known about for hundreds of years but only recently, particularly during the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, has it grown in popularity.
